Digital Scholarship Project Assistant

LITS is hiring one or more Bryn Mawr students to work as Digital Scholarship Project Assistants on a data cleaning and organization project building GIS datasets for use in courses for the Growth and Structure of Cities department. DSPAs will work closely with Cities faculty and LITS staff to identify, compile, clean, and document datasets that are well-suited for GIS assignments, and update instructional materials to work with them. Students will build skills in data management and cleaning, understanding research questions and data needs, and working in Excel, SPSS, and ArcGIS.

Details

  • $13.00/hr, on-campus summer job
  • Time commitment flexible, up to 400 hours

Qualifications

Required

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Experience working with data and familiarity with Excel
  • Interest in GIS, mapping, or Cities research involving data

Preferred

  • Prior experience working with ArcGIS Pro or other mapping tools
  • Prior experience with census data, data cleaning, and SPSS
  • Coursework in Cities
